Job Title: Physiotherapist, Sports Massage Therapist and APPI Pilates Instructor
We are really excited to welcome Sarah to the Quay team! Sarah runs her own Physio, Sports Massage, Pilates and Yoga business in the French Alps during the winter and relocates to Devon the rest of the year. Sarah is a fantastic addition to our team! In her spare time, she can be found in the outdoors and not far from a paddle or a surf board. ”I love mixing my yoga and meditation in with Paddle boarding. If I am not on the water I am exploring the amazing countyside and costal paths on foot. I am excited to join the team.”
What do you love about your job?
I love that physio is a bit geeky and there is always something new to learn about the body and that I get to work with people. Physio combines my ‘people person’ nature and my need for geekiness to keep my mind stimulated. I love watching people get better and for them to learn about their bodies– total job satisfaction!
What is physio and could it help me?
Physio is about restoring normal movement and function to your body – whether it’s a little niggle that’s annoying you, to a sports injury or rehab from surgery. But did you know that as physios we also work with respiratory diseases such as COPD, CF and hyperventilation amongst many others, as well as with neurological conditions such as stroke, MS and Parkinsons. Since qualifying, I haven’t specialised in a particular area and instead have a broad scope of clients that I can help.
What can I expect if I come to see you?
You’ll be greeted with a smile – we’ll talk through what ever problem you’ve currently got – then look at how your body is moving and where the problem is coming from – then work out what the best way to fix this is. I combine my knowledge from different fields to mix up my treatments with manual techniques such as massage and mobilisations of joints, make a personal exercise program (if appropriate) drawing on my traditional physio training and pilates and yoga instructor teachings.

2. Learning to do a handstand on a paddle board

4. Learning more about Connect Therapy
